"US star Lizzo wowed fans during a concert on Tuesday in Washington DC when she took to the stage to play a 200-year-old crystal flute, once owned by former US President James Madison.
The singer and trained flautist was granted permission by The Library of Congress to play the instrument, which arrived on stage with a police escort.
Inspecting it on stage, she said: "It's like playing out of a wine glass.""

As a flute player.. the only thing I can think is: Why would anyone want a crystal flute? The odds of dropping and breaking it are very high. No..just no. Not only that, but putting it together would be a pain. As flutes age, you normally need a tiny touch of lubricant or water on the head joint and foot joint so they go onto the body easily without bending keys/pads and I just can't see doing that with a crystal flute. It just seems like a silly expense that is not useful at all..
Not only that, but allowing a pop/ R&B star that dances while she plays to handle such an exorbitant instrument seems foolhardy to me. I mean..go Lizzo, but it just seems like a dumb decision on the LOC's part. *shrugs*

Lizzo is one of the most talented musicians of her generation.
I am happy for her. She deserved and earned the honor.

It's people like Ben Shapiro and their ilk. Performative outrage, as per usual.WellPreserved wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 12:05 pmWhat a really strange thing to be made about?
