Someone got fired at work today. Juicy office gossip if anyone's interested.

There have been rumors and office gossip for a few months now about two people at work. One is married and the other is single. The one who's married is technically a boss of the single one. He isn't her direct boss, but his position is over hers.

So by this past Friday, the rumor was that he was about to get fired. The higher ups had finally caught wind of their relationship and apparently it was because someone at work had turned them in. On to this morning, he was escorted out of the office first thing. As the day went on and more of the actual story came out, it turns out that a totally different, otherwise uninvolved coworker is the one who turned them in. Don't know why yet, but this person not only turned them in to the higher ups at work, but also contacted the guy's wife and told her about the affair right before he got fired this morning.

Guess he's not having a very good Monday. I mean, damn. I knew the guy was a little smarmy but didn't know about all that.

Wasn't there a post with the same situation, but from the point of view of the person who turned them in, like a week ago...

It was a guy who turned them in and told his wife, so he must have been jealous of the guy somehow? I haven't heard anything about him liking the girl or anything.

I haven't seen anything like that. You can pull it up, though. I don't care. All I'm talking about is what happened at work today. I've been dying to discuss is freely on here and with dh without having to whisper about it at work.

Guess he should keep his penis in his pants. But damn. Dude just up and ruined a life or two and he wasn't even in it. Did he have proof of the affair? Because if not, I would deny deny deny.

Well I wouldn't have an affair in the first place.

My ex-SIL was in a similar situation. She was married to my BIL and had an affair with another married man at work. Although they were not a superior to the other or in a position of authority, they were fired due to the fact that they were carrying on this affair during company time and also while on business trips on the company dime. It was the expense reports that did them in.

Funny thing is that while I don't like what my ex-SIL did, I can almost understand it. My BIL is a difficult, stubborn man. I think she just got tired of how my BIL would not listen to her and turned to someone who would. At the end of the day, she should have addressed her marital issues head on instead of having an affair. That happened 13 years ago and the interesting thing is she is still with that man (he got divorced too).

I knooowwww. A few of us left for lunch together so we could talk about it without getting caught lol. It was after he was fired but before we found out it was a different co-worker than we'd originally thought so we didn't get to talk about that part very much yet and that's the oddest part so far. Anyway, everyone was whispering, had their mouths hanging open, giggling and just generally acting as though we were back in middle school.

I don't know what his motivation was yet. I think most of us were very puzzled as to how he ever got into it to begin with and what he stood to gain. They're in totally different departments and on basically equal footing in terms of seniority and authority. They barely interact at work. I'm most interested in finding out the how and why with his involvement.
