It sounds like things are shifting in your relationship and there is usually a reason when that happens. Did the household income change, or does your partner feel it is time for you to go to work and contribute?
Many people would not be comfortable having to ask for money for household needs and personal spending. If you can't work it out to have a budget for your spending then it does sound like you need to be working. Even if you just break even at first, being in the work force will allow you to get experience and better pay as you gain job skills.




SAHM are contributing. What they do is as valid as those of us who work out of the home.
Absolutely agree with you - but in this post the OP is talking specifically about money, and a change to how finances are handled in her home. So that is what I was asking about. My question was about any change to the household income and if her partner had asked her to contribute to that.
