Early this morning, right after a package was delivered, I got a notification on my phone that someone who knew my password was trying to login to my Amazon account. I was able to deny the login but the IP address was the same as mine and for the device it just said "generic android device."
I went back to bed and literally as soon as I picked my phone back up when I woke up I got the same notification, same IP address, same device, but there wasn't any package delivered at that time.
The first time I did check amazon via the app but didn't put my password in since I'm already logged in.
Is this a cause for concern? Nothing suspicous has been ordered and I don't have any unrecognized charges on any of tbe cards on file on my account. I also get texts any time any of my cards are used so I'd know immediately.
Has anyone had this happen with amazon?

Are you logged into Amazon on android devices your home?
Amazon notifies me ALL the time that someone is trying to log into my account & it is just all my devices. For whatever reason, my server must seem like a new device. And the weirdest pet sometimes, it must ping of other towers like in a nearby state.
I have 2-factor authentication on & use the Authenticator app, so I just mainly ignore those notification.
I get a “new log in device” every time I log into many apps, including chase & my own bank.

I'm not sure but I would be changing my password right away. This is also the reason I do not keep a payment form on my Amazon. I add it when I purchase the product then when it ships I delete it. Yes it is a pain in the butt but at least no one can charge anything to it causing me to fight with either Amazon or my Credit Card company. I would also be looking at your phone/router as the IP address should be a unique one, you may have been caught in a spoofing scam and may have to reset your router.

Did your phone recently have a systems or software update or did the amazon app on your phone update?
My phone had àn update a week and a half ago. It's also a brand new phone, I've had it for about a month.Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2024 12:45 pm Did your phone recently have a systems or software update or did the amazon app on your phone update?

Haven’t had it happen, but I’d log out and change my password.

It’s unlikely that it’s your phone since you were able to access after denying access. Were you at home alone? Do you have other devices in your home that have access to log in like a TV signed in to prime, a tablet, an Alexa enabled device?
