Hernandez-Rivera's partner, Miguel Alvarez-Flores, 26, also known as "Diabolico," pleaded guilty to murder in February and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
According to a release from the Harris County District Attorney's Office, prosecutors expected to show in court that Cornejo was dating a gang member and was chosen as a sacrifice and shot to death, likely because she disrespected their shrine to the Santa Muerte, the Saint of Death.
Two MS-13 gang members convicted of killing a teenage girl in a satanic ritual in 2017 have each been sentenced

Satanism doesn't have "Saints" so it was a "ritual" based on Catholic beliefs, not actually Satanism.

Maybe you’re only familiar with the post-1960’s Americanized version of Satanism?Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 3:59 pm Satanism doesn't have "Saints" so it was a "ritual" based on Catholic beliefs, not actually Satanism.

You mean the versions spouted by various Christians to demonize and persecute their ideological opponents. Yes, the Catholics accused Protestants of Satanism and Protestants accused Puritans, and round and round it went but ALL "claims" of Satanism were rooted in the Christian mythology of those pointing the fingers at others.Slimshandy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 4:06 pmMaybe you’re only familiar with the post-1960’s Americanized version of Satanism?Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 3:59 pm Satanism doesn't have "Saints" so it was a "ritual" based on Catholic beliefs, not actually Satanism.

You realize that the article you posted frames the entire thing from the Christian perspective based on Christian ideologies of Satan. Satan (specifically pre 1960's) is a Christian based construct again it (satanism) was used to demonize foes to Christian ideologies in an effort to spread Christian propaganda. A "black mass' is Catholic Satanism. Which denotes the person having beliefs based in Catholicism.Slimshandy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 4:28 pmNo…Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 4:13 pmYou mean the versions spouted by various Christians to demonize and persecute their ideological opponents. That doesn’t mean satanists (who worship satan) don’t exist.
Your version of what you think Satanism is based itself around the presumption that satan doesn’t exist, and what I am saying is that *this* is a different religion… one that DOES believe satan exists, and worships him…

Don't presume to tell me what i think. I'm saying God and Satan don't exist. Pre 1960s "Satanism" was a claim used by the church to vilify their opponents often politically or ideologically. Now what you are talking about is theistic Satanism which once again is rooted in Christian mythology, specifically Catholic mythology. Your article even states the guy running the so called "black mass" was raised Catholic. Aka he's an "alternative" Catholic not a Satanist.Slimshandy wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 10:02 amThe is no satan outside of the Christian theology…Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 9:59 amYou realize that the article you posted frames the entire thing from the Christian perspective based on Christian ideologies of Satan. Ok, well there are some religions that believe that they do…and you don’t get to decide what religion *they* are.
There are self described satanists that pray to satan, whether you like that , believe that, or care…
