When the kids were 2 and 4, DH and I took a trip to Disney World without them. It would've been miserable taking two kids so little on a trip like that and they were thrilled to stay home with auntie.
Now with the kids as teens, DH and I have taken several long weekend trips without them. They enjoy staying home with the dog and having the house to themselves.
