All four states that border Texas have sanctuary cities. There are six states between Texas and NY with sanctuary cities. This wasn't a move to relieve Texas of its migrant burden by dispersing migrants to sanctuary cities. This was an expensive political stunt.Lexy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 10:18 amWhat is Texas suppose to do when in December over 300,000 arrived in Texas? Abbott's political stunt of bussing masses of migrants to "Blue" cities is a bitch, I'll give you that.
Just to add, two of the five weren't migrants.

I agree with Mike Johnson. Abbott shouldn't. I would totally support a coordinated effort between cities and states (particularly sanctuary cities) to relieve the Texas burden. That's not what happened though, is it? Perhaps it can happen moving forward? Of course, Abbott wants to now deport rather than transport so maybe there will no longer be the need for buses to NY, Denver, and Boston?Lexy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 11:04 amWellPreserved wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 10:48 amAll four states that border Texas have sanctuary cities. They don’t want to actually * be * a sanctuary city.
Because as they’ve now realized, there is no city in America that is equipped to deal with that kind of influx of people.

I am aware of the counties. In NY many counties are blocking it. Nassau and Rockland already have. Most cities are not happy with being a sanctuary.WellPreserved wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 11:17 amYes. Drop them off at the White House so Biden and Kamala Harris can deal with it directly.Lexy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 10:18 amWhat is Texas suppose to do when in December over 300,000 arrived in Texas? Is that not okay?
It doesn’t matter if it’s a sanctuary city or not. Biden still doesn’t care cause Abbott is targeting the wrong group.
