I agree. I’m wondering how do they travel when even plastic knives aren’t allowed in planes? 🤷🏼‍♀️

What religion professes that putting on the full armor of God includes guns? I have never seen that in any bible study I went to.
Plenty of Christians… Gun Lovin’ Jesus is big around the Midwest/ South…

Christian Nationalism, maybe? It’s more of a political ideology than an actual religion, though.
No… it isn’t.
That’s how they follow their religion.

The Bible sure does tell a lot of people to do a lot of things. I thought Jesus was a pacifist? Is there something in the Bible they’ve misinterpreted to make them think Jesus would be a gun nut?

He’s only a pacifist until you do something that REALLY pisses him off… at that point he’ll whip you with a cord until you stumble out of his space.

There’s varying degrees of pacifism. Only a few denominations are what would be considered absolute pacifists such as Quakers. Many, possibly most, Christian denominations, subscribe to just war theory, which would be a more conditional pacifism. Anyone thinking Jesus would be a gun nut are more than likely conflating their culture and/or political ideologies with their religious beliefs, hence the Christian Nationalism I mentioned earlier.

Good info, thanks. I didn’t know Quakers were Christians.

This from the Baptist article. “ Americans who believe gun ownership is a God-given right and that the United States should be an officially Christian nation are among the most aggressive opponents of common-sense limits on firearms,”

They aren’t that much different than extreme Muslims.

Yeah, and it’s been a growing problem for a long time. It’s not something I’d really noticed until Obama became President, but if you look at the history, it’s been there for a long time. Currently reading a book called Jesus and John Wayne about it. As a Southern Christian woman, it’s scary, frustrating, and heartbreaking all at the same time. Here’s the good reads link to the book if interested.
