That is not what the first amendment does…
Churches don’t have to let the media in or tell them anything about what goes on behind closed doors.
First Baptist Church members must now sign sexuality oath opposing LGBTQ freedoms

The media often breaks news of crimes. Then police find out and go in. That creepy guy, Jefferies I think, is in jail and he still has followers.BobCobbMagob wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:18 pmThe first amendment doesn’t give immunity to cover up crimes at all, the police should be going in if that’s the case, not the media.Lemons wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:00 pmChurches like the one in Utah marrying 12 year olds to 70 year olds don’t let the media in. If the media is tipped off to any wrongdoing like that, the police should be the first people they tell… not let it go on for however long it takes them to do their own investigation without alerting authorities.Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:22 pmHow would the police be able to go in if it's not reported about first? They do, but they’re not receiving evidence that child rape is happening and then sitting on that information for the months of not year it takes for an investigation without alerting authorities to the crimes.Lemons wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:36 pmThe media often breaks news of crimes. They report crimes to the public when they have enough proof, not hide ongoing crimes for the rapists until their story is finished.

Authorities can't really go in and investigate based on "Rumors" they need evidence first, and maybe a warrant. Probable cause at the very least.BobCobbMagob wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:41 pmIf the media is tipped off to any wrongdoing like that, the police should be the first people they tell… not let it go on for however long it takes them to do their own investigation without alerting authorities.Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:22 pmHow would the police be able to go in if it's not reported about first? So… they need to be given the same evidence that the media received.Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:46 pmAuthorities can't really go in and investigate based on "Rumors" they need evidence first, and maybe a warrant. Then they take it to a judge and ask for a search warrant based on that evidence…
They don’t investigate first, then talk to the judge.

If the churches aren't letting the media in do you really think they're letting the cops in?BobCobbMagob wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 3:10 pmSo… they need to be given the same evidence that the media received.Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:46 pmAuthorities can't really go in and investigate based on "Rumors" they need evidence first, and maybe a warrant. Cops are also bound by the law....so if the state has a law that says age of consent is 16 but as low as 12 with parental consent and the parents (as members of the church gave their consent) then legally there's jack shit the cops can do.
The cops go in by force. They’re not just let in.Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 3:13 pmIf the churches aren't letting the media in do you really think they're letting the cops in?BobCobbMagob wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 3:10 pmSo… they need to be given the same evidence that the media received.Baconqueen13 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:46 pm

They can get a search warrant before first contact with the accused.

I don’t go to churches that do stuff like this but that’s about all I have control over because the church has a right to do that if I’m not mistaken.

Again they need a warrant and for that they need probable cause and outstanding evidence. and they can't get that unless someone (like the media) reports on it.BobCobbMagob wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 3:16 pmThe cops go in by force.
