“The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the firearm industry trade association, revealed that at least 5.4 million people purchased a firearm for the first time in 2021. Nearly 30 percent of all firearm purchases last year went to new gun owners, based on NSSF’s retailer surveys and adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) background checks.“

https://www.nssf.org/articles/nssf-reta ... s-in-2021/

“Gallup has tracked both metrics of gun ownership annually since 2007, showing no clear increase or decrease in gun ownership over that time.”

Ok… now look up gun ownership rates in the 1950’s vs today.

According to Gallup polls, in 1993 51% of homes had a gun in it,
By the time we get to 1999, that number is down to 34%.

Carpy posted a claim that you seemed to disagree with. I just posted links that backed up what she claimed. If you want to make claims about gun ownership in the 1950s, you are more than welcome to post a link, or data, or article to back up those claims. I’m not chasing them down. I’m not doubting that there has been a decrease in over 70 years. A lot has changed in that time frame.
The link I posted was about 1993 to 1999.

A lot of my sales the last couple years have been new gun owners.

Grow up.
After you
I'm not the one who called people names in a shallow attempt to feel better about myself.
Cause I said crayon eater? That's a military thing. No surprise that you don't understand the reference.

I’m aware. I read it.

“Forty-two percent of Americans report having a gun in their home, similar to the average reported to Gallup over the past decade. This self-reported measure has fluctuated from survey to survey, but is consistent with trends since 2004. Longer term, Gallup has found that household gun ownership has ranged from a low of 34% in 1999 to a high of 51% in 1993.“

You also told me to look up gun ownership in the 1950s…so what I said still stands.

“Regardless of Americans' perceptions of crime and their need to protect themselves, violent crime rates fell significantly from 1993 to 2012. While it may be a contentious assertion, some attribute falling crime rates to increased gun sales.”

Also from your link…^^^

Ok, but that wouldn’t have anything to do with overall ownership going down either.

There are going to be a lot of new owners, but if the new owners don’t amount to the same number of owners as before due to death or simply getting rid of their guns, overall ownership goes down.

Crayon eater isn't just a military thing, it's a common phrase. Like I said, grow up. You are only doubling down to prove my point.
