The middle isn't. One has the chance to survive other means of suicide attempts. A gun shot, not so much. Personally I couldn't do it with a gun though I thought about it in the past.
Most suicides even with a gun aren't done on impulse.
I find this hard to believe. Impulsivity is a known risk factor for suicide attempts.
