“There is so much opportunity here,” he said Thursday, at the end of a day’s work. “You just have to take advantage of it.”

Democrats have called the stunts cruel, and many migrants have been left at least temporarily homeless as their new host cities scramble to help them.

But others, like Alejos, have called the free transportation a blessing. They are already employed and achieving some measure of stability. They have found jobs in construction, hospitality, retail, trucking and other sectors facing worker shortages in an economy still recovering from the impact of the pandemic

It's nice to hear because most people understand that in a country with a labor shortage, migrants should be welcome.

Alejos is lucky that he wasn't given false information that would make him be deemed inadmissible.

IMO, DeSantis and Abbott should be working with sanctuary cities (from Oklahoma to New Mexico, to New York) in relocating migrants who don't have sponsors (currently Venezualans in particular). I don't have a problem with migrants being re-located to municipalities away from the border. It's the intentional misleading of the migrants and the drop off points being selected to create the most confusion and stress for the migrants.

Texas itself is experiencing a severe job shortage. Seems weird to me that they would spend millions to sending job seekers out of the state?

If busing migrants to the interior is the answer, hooray! But that doesn't mean dumping them into the street. We would need to start a program which *coordinates* between agencies on both ends of the journey. We could arrange for migrants to arrive in every city and town in the country. That would be so great for them.

I'm pissed about the cost to Florida. That's money more efficiently spent.

What, specifically, are the policies of Biden that Abbot and DeSantis are railing against? Many of the people are asylum seekers, correct? That's legal.

Texas has a labor shortage when it comes to skilled labor, particularly oil and gas. So, perhaps these migrants wouldn't be the best fit right off the bat to fill those openings. Yet, we're dedicating $19M to apprenticeship programs in those fields. Seems to me like in the very near future, we can fill these apprentice programs with the influx of migrants and then be able to save on their transportation.

Class Action lawsuit on behalf of the defrauded people has been filed in Federal Court. Wonder if Florida residents will also get stuck with the legal bills for this.

The lawsuit alleges that DeSantis and his accomplices engaged in "a premeditated, fraudulent, and illegal scheme centered on exploiting [the migrants] for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial and political interests."

Follow the money. Miami Herald is doing some great reporting on the flight to MV and the "punk" flight to Delaware.
