I just watched a video of a preacher assault a woman in church, from the pulpit, while he was preaching, because she called him out for condoning spousal abuse. He literally choked her in front of his entire congregation and he's still their preacher.

Given the context of what is happening in the white evangelical church right now and how conflated it has become with the political right, her words and others’ are extremely concerning.

I saw a clip of like the last 8-10 minutes of it, I believe. It’s weird how similar it is to an altar call at the end of church service.

I know that a lot of media attention has been on it looking like the Sieg Heils but it looked like an altar call to me which I found in some respects even more disturbing.
