And your kids never ever needed help with something past the age of four I highly doubt that and if they didn't then yes they are super F***ing talented. And you are the world's most perfect mother.
They didn’t need help going to the bathroom anymore… nor did any of the other kindergartners, so maybe I just come from an area filled with perfect mothers 🤷‍♀️
No one said that this person was helping them with bathing or going to the bathroom either the person was in their supervising like they should have been I don't get what's so hard for you to understand about that.
I don’t think kids need supervision in the bathroom unless they’re under the age of five.

If you do, fine. I still don’t.

LMAO well I’m raising three of them and they’ve been able to go to the bathroom by themselves since they were four.

So either my kids are super talented, or no… that’s a requirement to start kindergarten. All kids can do it barring a medical reason.

You let your four year old children go to a public bathroom by themselves?

My kids are all teenagers and taller than I am now, but by five they went in by themselves.

Especially in school or summer camp… they didn’t need anyone supervising them.

It wasn’t even offered at any of my kids schools or summer camps lol. I mean, in kindergarten you wanted an adult to go into the bathroom with them to make sure they were doing what they were supposed to be doing? When does that end? First grade? Second grade? Third grade?

Well when you have to handle 5 times the amount of kids: adult supervision is required.

Can you imagine the backlash if a camp counselor just sent in their 15+ kids to the bathroom while staying outside, kids are horsing around, and a child slipped on wet tile and cracked their head open.
The camp counselor would be completely at fault for not ensuring their safety.
She's never going to get it. She's the perfect mom with the most perfect kids that never need help
Idk about all that but it’s just ridiculous to me to be blind to the safety aspect and jump straight to “that’s creepy and a red flag!”
In the scenario I described (which unfortunately I have seen play out before at the pool), I have a feeling she’d be quick to blame the counselor for not watching the children.

If Grandma truly had legitimate concerns, then she went about expressing them all wrong. The transgendered individual wasn't just some random Jane off the street. It was a YMCA employee. I'm pretty sure all employees who work with youth have to be vetted first (ie. background checks, fingerprints, etc) before they are allowed to work with the kids, especially in such a vulnerable setting.

So back to Grandma, if she had concerns, she did not need to yell at the employee. She could have gone out to the front desk, asked for a manager, and spoken her concerns to the manager at that point. And the manager could have explained that that was indeed the employee that they put in charge of watching over the girls and that employee had every right to be there. Then Grandma could choose if she wanted to stay or leave. Simple.

Instead Grandma made a big issue of it and caused a huge stink about it, and it doesn't sound like the first time that Grandma has made a big stink about things at this location. Therefore it's really hard to side with Grandma on this one.

It's been structured like that in schools here since I was in school. The teacher's escorted the kids to the bathrooms until around third grade. Same with my five children.

I agree with you there. I've seen it happen all too often as well

Exactly. All elementary school classes have a bathroom break on the way to their specials(music art pe etc) and on the way to and from lunch. The teacher stands outside of the bathroom and waits. They also had a private one person bathroom in all prek-2nd grade classes for when kids need to go during class. 3rd-5th go to the big bathroom in the hall with a hall pass and have a certain amount of time.
