Ah see you're talking two different things. The post was about gun violence not MURDER. However when you look at the states with the highest murder rate it should be no surprise that red states also top the list. Here are the 10 states with the highest murder rate:

As a person who has experienced a suicide death in the family I can tell you that is much more of a worry to me and many others than someone wanting my shirt. And in my small town there have been children maimed and killed by access to unsecured firearms.

Not sure what you mean by "spinning reality" - more people will generally mean more incidents of all types that are related to behavior. That will include assault, robbery, murder, accidents, domestic violence, etc. What the statistics show is the larger the percentage of gun ownership in the population the more likely you will experience gun violence.

I guess it comes down to what people worry about then.
There’s things each individual has full control of, and things an individual has no control of.
In Red places you have to worry about yourself , in Blue places you have to worry about other people.
