Would you find this odd??

Would it be odd to you if your child’s grade level teacher stopped by over the summer to introduce themselves and drop off a book?

Not at all. This was the norm when I was in school. Now if the book was a Bible, yeah, I'd find it odd.

Yes but only because my kids are homeschooled. If they were public schooled I would love that.

Not based on the info you have provided. But you aren't sharing much - did every student get a book? Is this an age appropriate book the class will be reading? Is there more to this story?

If they sent out a letter ahead of time and scheduled visits? Sure, sounds like a great way to meet. But just dropping by unannounced? I would find really weird. It’s kind of an invasion of privacy.

What was the book? Something educational or suggested by the teacher?

I would find this to be a sweet gesture on the part of the teacher.

Maybe I would find it unusual, but not creepy or inappropriate in any way. Maybe quite the contrary.
