It finally happened, someone said something

So why didn’t you allow your family to do the shopping period? Or do grocery pickup? Or hell even do instacart where they drop it off at home.

I couldn’t care less if you think you can’t wear a mask but there are alternatives to going inside a store without one.

Here in Ontario, the published exemptions are that masks should not be placed on:

> Children under two years of age, or children under the age of five years either chronologically or developmentally who refuse to wear a mask and cannot be persuaded to do so by their caregiver;
> Individuals with medical conditions rendering them unable to safely wear a mask, including breathing difficulties or cognitive difficulties;
> Anyone who is unable to remove the mask without help; and
> Anyone who is unconscious or incapacitated.

There may be situations where someone who is deaf or hard of hearing that may require an employee to remove their mask or face covering to speak to the customer. We remind anyone removing their mask or face covering to follow safe handling procedures and to keep a distance of 2 metres (6 feet) away from others.

No person shall be required to provide proof to a business.

Most people who even get the virus don’t require hospitalization.
That may be true. However the large numbers of people who get the virus means that even a small percentage needing hospital care is enough to overwhelm area hospitals. Take a look at Florida and Texas right now... knowing "most people don't require hospitalization" is not much comfort for those who lose loved ones.

You and 95% of the people wearing masks out there.

You're not special. We all feel like we're suffocating when wearing one.

I feel this is probably the best bet for you. They're pretty easy to find these days.

How do you get a medical exemption?

If just a regular, hook-behind-the-ears face mask makes you feel like you're choking then you must be wearing it some crazy way on your face.

I don't think she does. Sounds like she just told the worker she did and they accepted it.
