Why on earth should a person be required to release their personal financial information from when they were a private citizen? That's ridiculous.

If it happens with him, guess what? That opens the door for the REST of OUR privacy to be invaded going forward. Nothing will be sacred any longer. That's what's off putting about this to me.

Release them from while he's in public office - great. I'm all about that. Congress is trying to get TEN YEARS of his tax returns. WHY? For what purpose?

Does Nancy think line 19A on the 1040 is labelled "Russian bribe money?

So Pelosi and Schiff can paw through them and try to manufacture another wrong that doesn't exist and waste another two years and $30 million of our money?

That's not their business nor is it their right. They need to focus on doing some real work - CA and other states are in pathetic shape. Their constituents must be furious after nearly 4 years of doing nothing but chasing Trump.

If he were a public servant, then I'm all for it. I think we should examine the returns of the children of those in Congress and the Senate - Pelosi, Mittens, Biden. Because their children have high paying positions with Ukraine energy companies.

Congressmen and Senators are not going to take their bribes into their own accounts. They're going to launder their fees for services rendered through family.

How's old Nance, who's been a public servant for 40 plus years, have a net worth of $150M again? How is it that socialist Bernie has 3 homes again?

I know books, right!

I can't understand WHY more people aren't upset about this happening and the implications for all of us, and WHY more people aren't incensed about the 4 year long waste of time and money on bullshit investigations.
Here we go, the old lies excuse and then whatabout so and so and then why should he? You guys are so predictable.

There is a criminal investigation underway and his taxes are being subpoenaed. He went to court and claimed that because he’s president the law doesn’t apply to him. It went all the way to the Supreme Court and their decision was that the president isn’t above the law when it comes to criminal investigations. He will be allowed to fight the charges in court like any other suspected felon.

How people can’t understand that is beyond me.

Have any of you been following anything that's been surfacing for weeks, or is it "if I don't look it didn't happen"?
I don't follow Fox News if that's what you're talking about. Obama did order an investigation into the Russian involvement of the 2016 Presidential campaign, if THAT is what you mean by spying.

Pelosi won in 2018 with an 86.8-13.2% in her favor, while Schiff won in 2018 with a 78.4-21.6% in his. So no, their constituents seem just fine with the work they’re doing. Considering the Republicans lost the House in 2018 after two years of Trump ass-kissing, I’d say constituents nationwide were more furious with them than Pelosi and Schiff. The House has also done plenty of work - the bills they pass simply don’t get brought up in the GOP controlled Senate.

No one is asking for 10 years of them. The House asked for 6 years and the Manhattan DA asked for 8 years. Why the fuss from Donald when he said he’d be happy to release them in 2014, which takes us to about the same time frame? From his birth certificate idiocy, he made he clear that he thinks people who won’t share records are hiding something.

Following that standard, should Trump’s children and his businesses (run by his children) all open all of their financial books to the public to ensure bribes aren’t being paid to them or laundered through the Trump Organization?

Nancy is wealthy because her husband is a successful investor and venture capitalist. Bernie’s wealth is largely from books.

I can’t understand why Donald just doesn’t release them, as he repeatedly said he would, and why his voters don’t care that he’s a huge liar.

That’s Trump v Mazars. Trump v Vance says “Two hundred years ago, a great jurist of our Court established that no citizen, not even the President, is categorically above the common duty to produce evidence when called upon in a criminal proceeding. We reaffirm that principle today and hold that the President is neither absolutely immune from state criminal subpoenas seeking his private papers nor entitled to a heightened standard of need.”

Trump’s lawyers will raise issues with the lower courts to delay the Manhattan grand jury getting his tax records, but the court essentially ruled his argument that the President isn’t immune from cooperating with a criminal investigation.
