I don’t know why him or his supporters are fighting so hard so he doesn’t have to release his tax returns. If he doesn’t have anything to hide he would release them but he does so he won’t.

Why on earth should a person be required to release their personal financial information from when they were a private citizen? That's ridiculous.

If it happens with him, guess what? That opens the door for the REST of OUR privacy to be invaded going forward. Nothing will be sacred any longer. That's what's off putting about this to me.

There is a criminal investigation underway and his taxes are being subpoenaed. He went to court and claimed that because he’s president the law doesn’t apply to him. It went all the way to the Supreme Court and their decision was that the president isn’t above the law when it comes to criminal investigations. He will be allowed to fight the charges in court like any other suspected felon.

How people can’t understand that is beyond me.

Pelosi won in 2018 with an 86.8-13.2% in her favor, while Schiff won in 2018 with a 78.4-21.6% in his. So no, their constituents seem just fine with the work they’re doing. Considering the Republicans lost the House in 2018 after two years of Trump ass-kissing, I’d say constituents nationwide were more furious with them than Pelosi and Schiff. The House has also done plenty of work - the bills they pass simply don’t get brought up in the GOP controlled Senate.

No one is asking for 10 years of them. The House asked for 6 years and the Manhattan DA asked for 8 years. Why the fuss from Donald when he said he’d be happy to release them in 2014, which takes us to about the same time frame? That’s Trump v Mazars. Trump v Vance says “Two hundred years ago, a great jurist of our Court established that no citizen, not even the President, is categorically above the common duty to produce evidence when called upon in a criminal proceeding. We reaffirm that principle today and hold that the President is neither absolutely immune from state criminal subpoenas seeking his private papers nor entitled to a heightened standard of need.”

Trump’s lawyers will raise issues with the lower courts to delay the Manhattan grand jury getting his tax records, but the court essentially ruled his argument that the President isn’t immune from cooperating with a criminal investigation.
