Podcast help!

Has anyone ever made one? DD wants to create a podcast and upload it to Apple Podcasts. She has made a cover picture and recorded a couple episodes for the podcast so far, but it seems like she needs a “host” to be able to get it on Apple. As far as I can see, these hosts all require monthly paid subscriptions.

Can anyone offer any help? Are there any free hosts or a way of getting around this? What host is a good option for someone just starting out? How exactly does she go about posting her podcasts so that they are available on the Apple Podcasts app? Also, what softwares would you recommend for recording and editing? (she is currently using one that she used for a school project but wondering what suggestions you all might have). She is just using her laptop mic for now; if she sticks with it, we might buy her something a little more high-tech and professional like a microphone add-on or something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Idk about most of that. Get her a good microphone for her laptop though.
