President Donald Trump doesn’t have much of a primary fight on his hands — but Republican voters are nevertheless turning out in droves for him, a warning sign for Democrats in November.

Trump received more than 31,000 votes in the Iowa caucus, surpassing the 25,000 Democrats who turned out during Barack Obama’s successful 2012 reelection bid. Trump’s share was more than four times the number of Republicans who caucused during George W. Bush’s 2004 reelection campaign.

The vote totals in New Hampshire were even starker. The president received 129,696 votes, more than doubling Obama and Bush's totals

Significant and very under reported.
Plus in NH it is an open primary and I personally know 6 Republicans who voted on the Democratic ticket for Mayor Pete in hopes of having him be the nominee against President Trump. In November they will all vote Trump. Supposedly the Republicans there were pushing this cross-over vote. No way to tell how many that accounted for.

I had seen totals for NH that were a bit lower, but they’re still almost double what other unopposed incumbents have received. If people are going out to vote in a primary for no reason but to show support the election might be very interesting. I don’t think that many would show up just to make him seem more popular than he is. Especially with the democrats not decided yet.

I don't know. The dems do a pretty good job, considering Hillary rigged a whole primary to beat Bernie last time.

I have been a dedicated Bernie Sanders supporter for years before anyone knew who he was and I actually have a headache from rolling my eyes so hard just now.

I wish all states had closed primaries.

perfectly legal, you can vote for a candidate for any reason you want even if its to "sabotage" someone. people vote based on totally stupid factors: looks, gender, race, and even to protest or spite someone. for example, some bernie bros voted for Trump to spite hillary for stealing the election, Hell, Cockatoo told me she was going to vote for joe biden to try to piss me off, lol. she is basing her vote on a random internet stranger's opinion rather than her own which is fine by me, I don't think that lying dog faced pony stands a chance against trump 🤣

Don't worry, plenty of illegals "manipulate" elections to make up for it. why don't you all go donate to planned parenthood in mike pence's name to feel better and continue to pretend you're above playing dirty 🙄

yeah, kinda ironic calling us fascist when the DNC cheated to put in their preferred choice.
