It is -28, typical weather for February in Fairbanks. OP where do you live that -8 would delay or close schools? we have outdoor recess until it is -20 here. I am just curious

I think they were more worried about the windchills, that we're going to be -28 or colder.

I understand that our windchill sometimes goes down to -50. I guess I am so used to kids at the bus stop when it's colder than -8 all winter, I forget other places don't get that cold.
