dry goods like pasta/beans etc and the fresh fruits and vegetables make it worth the trip to the closest one I can find.
My goodness, I have 3 Aldi's in a 10 minute driving distance & another 2 in 20 minutes -- how far away are yours?
I don't know about Lotus but the closest Aldi to us is a 30 minute drive. We have a Food Lion in our town but Aldi is the next closest. I go to Aldi once a week.

I went to one when they first opened in my area. I didn't like the selection. The store was very small. I needed a coin to rent a basket...It was just not for me..lol!!

I am scared to buy their meat.
I love Whole Foods bakery.

I've not bought their meat. Usually milk, a treat from the bakery. And maybe raid their amazing salad bar. I've purchased some impressive soups from the soup cauldrons.

No Aldi's here in my area or anywhere near me. We have a TJ's in my city. Then Costco, several Walmarts, two Winco's, Fred Meyer(Kroger), and Ray's.

I've noticed that a lot of stores have gross food.....I mean, you go to buy a bag of apples or oranges? and there are several in there already rotting.
squishy tomatoes
soft potatoes
wilted lettuce

like WTF? looking through the produce section is just depressing!
and anything thats healthy? super fuckin expensive!

disgusting.....
I am growing my own food this year, I am over spending tons of money on food that goes bad quickly or has like zero nutritional value.
