Why would training now excuse their previous oversight of corruption and unethical behavior? Shouldn’t they have been professional enough to be aware of it before agreeing to be officers?

Trump has previously tweeted “leadership: Whatever happens, you're responsible. If it doesn't happen, you're responsible”. Following that sentiment, they’re responsible for the work of the people they delegated it to, if that’s the case.

His children can’t be trusted to ethically, properly run a charity, it seems quite odd that Trump, who claims to care about corruption, would continue to employ them in a high powered government role and as senior heads of a business. Unless he...doesn’t actually care about corruption.

“Perhaps unknowningly”? Let’s pretend that’s the case - are ignorance of the rules and ethical practices any excuse for breaking them?

If the only options here are that Ivanka is corrupt or incompetent, and Trump claims to be against both, why is it acceptable she still has a job in government, which has considerably higher stakes for lots more people than their unscrupulous charity ever did?
