"Video obtained by ProPublica shows the Border Patrol held a sick teen in a concrete cell without proper medical attention and did not discover his body until his cellmate alerted guards. The video doesn’t match the Border Patrol's account of his death."

Word of warning - the video is incredibly disturbing.

I can’t watch it, I get too sick. Thankfully video is preventing law enforcement types from lying about their actions.

So the time stamps were added in by ProPublica.... nothing funny about that at all. I do question the welfare check discovery, but we can't see the hall to know if agents/doctors were in the process of doing the checks. I'm not trying to dismiss or make light of this, but I absolutely question the adding in of the timestamps.

How had this 16 year old get across the border? Did he crawl over or under the wall? Was he transported in the back of a truck/van?

Why does that matter? As soon as he was in US custody, he was the responsibility of the US.

No. If this sick child was brought illegally across the border by his parents or in a truck or over the wall the child's welfare is still the parent's responsibility.
If this 16 year old took it upon himself to illegally enter this country that's on him.

Are you still not clear on the word ILLEGAL?

He crossed the border with his adult sister. He was in DHS custody for six days before he became ill with the flu. I understand the word "illegal" but I also think that if the US wants to detained immigrants (legal or illegal) they need to properly ensure the health of the detainee. This was a 16 year old who died a horrible death while in US custody. Do you think it is unimportant because he was not a citizen?

I think if he was an illegal he should have been immediately sent back across the border with his adult sister.

Do you happen to ever read anything at MC? If not, check it out some time. It's the perfect Archie Bunker stereotype.
