They ALL need to be showing their tax returns, showing us all where their money REALLY comes from. You don't get a job paying $174K/yr and become a millionaire in a matter of a few years.
It's not a law first off and second, he came out of private life into politics. The public has no right to view another citizens tax returns. Sure, clamor for tax returns post inauguration all you want, after he was already in public office.EarlGrayHot wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 8:25 am When one of them becomes president then yes those tax returns should be made pubic as recent presidents have done except for Trump. Before you worry about the candidates, the current occupant of the White House needs to do what he claimed he would earlier but didn't.
Uh, yeah, you could. That’s not exactly hard to do these days. Invest wisely and it’s possible. It’s not like he had zero dollars or properties and then suddenly became a millionaire. And is not like being a millionaire is some big deal these days. There are close to 20 million millionaires in the US.29again wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 7:18 pm Yep. Well, at least people have heard of JK Rowling and know what her books are about.. Who even knew that Bernie wrote a book, and what the subject was?! Pretty sure her advances were more than $795K, too.SolidlyAverage wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 8:53 amUh, yeah, you could. That’s not exactly hard to do these days. Invest wisely and it’s possible. Or you could do like Bernie and make almost $2 million selling books you write. It seems like everyone forgets about that.
Ask JK Rowling about how that works! Pretty sure she made a little more than a couple of million with her books, though! Lol
I would love to know how a career politician, who has to maintain 2 homes, can become a multi-millionaire in a couple of terms of office.... I'm sure insider trading has nothing to do with it!Valentina327 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 8:37 amIt's not a law first off and second, he came out of private life into politics. I'm far more interested in how career politicians who have allegedly spent their lives in public service have multi-million dollar net worths and live in gated estates. You're really not just a tiny bit curious about that?
If his accountants are smart enough to elude the IRS and federal accountants, then I think I want them in charge of the IRS.EarlGrayHot wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 8:25 am When one of them becomes president then yes those tax returns should be made pubic as recent presidents have done except for Trump. Doesn't he have like, 3 different houses? The latest one was acquired shortly after he let HRC get the nomination, I heard. Now if that doesn't look funny.......KnotaDinghy wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 8:18 amEspecially living in Vermont!29again wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 7:18 pm Yep.
