I’m in the Bible Belt right now and I’ve heard things like that said plenty of time. Both Evangelicals and Baptists think they are cursed if they don’t support Israel, they think all of these specific signs have to happen before Jesus comes back and most of them think it is within Human decisions to enact those dominoes that brings Jesus back.
I’m not sure who you are around but I was raised in a Baptist family and we don’t think like that. So I have to disagree. This reads like you’re lumping us in one category or this behavior is somehow normal to us and it’s not.
Indeed... I've been in many southern states while dh was in the military and sure, there are a few but them being a "majority"? I have to laugh. Even 10-20 years ago they were never the "majority". Baptists are nuts and extremists are extremists, but they just have the loudest voices ... hardly the majority.

There is no one statement that could be applied as truth to any group of millions, however for the majority of highly Christian religious people ( of which I would say make up 85% of midwesterners and southerners) there is a large bit of theology attached to politics.
Actually, Almost everywhere in the world has a huge amount of religious theology attached to politics.
That’s not extremist, that’s normal for almost everywhere in the world if you interchange Christian for whatever religion the country is.

That they believe human action can influence their beliefs?
That they believe where their God came from should remain protected?

Religious people believe that. Most of your country is religious in the evangelical way.
Evangelicals are not a majority. The fastest growing population is the non-religious. I have no idea if the “evil necessity” story is common outside of the extremists but I don’t think so.

I do I’m from the Midwest. What do denominations are considered evangelicals? I’m baptist but don’t consider myself evangelical. I just took a quiz on if you’re evangelical I got 10 out of 31 lol. But it did have some odd questions.

I just go by the broad definition, although I know many different people within each religion have different beliefs.

A lot of Baptist don’t consider themselves evangelical. I defiantly don’t either.

I grew up in the Midwest and I’m in the Bible Belt now I’m a baptist and always have been and never heard that we’re cursed if we don’t support Israel. And I have always heard and believe that no one besides God knows when Jesus will come back and nothing we do can make it happen faster slower.
