That continued on in East Germany. Modern art was banned and artists were forced to create murals promoting the government

3rd Painting at an adult gallery in the art district?

No problem. 👍🏼

3rd Painting at an art exhibit in an elementary school?

Inappropriate AF. 👎🏼
its not the nudity being commented on lol.

The fact some of you saw this meme and thought "nudity" was the reference is hilarious. 1st of all, there is no nudity in any of them, 2nd that is not the meaning at all 🤣 3rd, many great works of classical art have nudity. They still meet objective standards for beauty skill and talent.

I know of no "objective standards" for beauty or talent in art. "Skill," possibly, but that is secondary to the content in art and more important in craft or decoration. Art is not valued by those criteria, but rather by the impact it has on a society and its ability to express human emotion or impart new understanding.

Paintings that were unsellable during an artist's lifetime may be worth millions today. Enduring relevance is the most significant factor determining art's value.

It looks like someone's idea of art is a painter successfully painting a picture to look someone, a portrait. How boring if art was only made up of landscapes and portraits. Especially since photography.

The "degenerate" story is from the fascist playbook. People pretending that we need to "Make Art Great Again" are blind to the fact that humans now are producing more amazing art than at any other time. Technology and relative leisure have allowed humans to give time to pushing the limits on what can be done in every realm.
