When does school start for you?

My kids will start on Sept. 4th (DD - 6th grade) and Sept. 5th (DS - 8th grade).

We haven't started any back to school shopping yet. We will do it sometime in mid-August.

Unofficially we usually start the beginning of August when everything else starts back. It's just easier that way.

They start after Labor Day. They’ll both be in middle school this year: 6th and 7th grade.

Not soon enough! My kids don't go back until after Labor Day. We have to get everything. I'll have one in high school (9th grade), one in middle school (6th grade), and one in preschool. The district office is still closed for the summer right now.

That sounds awfully early to me. He technically starts September 4th, but they have this "jump start" program this year that starts them August 28th. They go for three days and get acquainted with the school, then have a long weekend and start their actual classes. Ds will be in first grade.
