Off topic but I'm really interested to see if girls start coming to boy scouts now that they are allowed. My GS troop was boring and there is no Eagle rank equivalent that employers find valuable. Yds has asked, and so has my boss, why GS can't just adopt the boy scout ranks and programs. And Idk. Idk if they don't want to or they can't. I've also heard girls don't get to keep much of the cookie profits. So I guess I'll look for copycat recipes for tagalongs lol.

I kind of feel bad I didn't let my girls do girl scouts, but I was so not interested in the forcing kids to sell cookies thing.

I hate it when my kids come home from school with those fundraising things where the kids get prizes for selling stuff too. Can I just send a check please? The kids get all worked up and excited about the prizes. When really they want the parents to solicit their friends, family and co-workers to buy over priced crap no one real wants but feel guilted in to buying.

one author from one obscure site is not "conservativeS" (plural) it would be one critic- in a sea of millions.

now to the criticism. the article doesn't actually list AOC as the reason for not supporting girl scouts but their leftist affiliations, activism and propaganda. the author even states she was a girl scout herself, but the organization has changed into a godless Marxist leaning group at odds with her values. she suggests an alternative girl's group, "American Heritage Girls" that also "builds leadership skills in young girls". (the girl scouts dont have a monopoly AOC) she states AOC represents the road the girl scouts are on now by partnering with proabortion and leftist activist groups. I know the concept of symbolism is probably difficult for you, but that what it is.

She really thinks people are boycotting GS because she was once one of them? Gee, so was I..... but who really cares? People have been boycotting GS and their cookies for quite a while now. I think maybe AOC just now heard about it and assumed a few things!

I don't know about the all this AOC business or the religious aspect of it all, but I stopped supporting the boys and girl scouts when they started making a fuss about how its unfair that girls couldn't join the boy scouts. I have been a girl scout and we did everything the boys scouts did. Why not leave well enough alone and let girls know that you can be a girl scout AND learn the same things the boy scouts learn and experience. They lost integrity and my respect when they decided that being a girl scout wasn't as good as being a boy scout. Its like saying you have to be apart of a male dominated organization to be or do something related to that organization instead of making it your own.
Its counter productive to the women's movement imo.

Out of my boys one really likes boy scouts and one hates it. I didn't like GS as a kid but that's because they didn't camp or do what my brother in BS was doing. Now other troops may be different.

good, you're 1/2 way there. WND was the ONLY source the OP had as "evidence" of conservatives boycotting girlscouts because of AOC. I posted quotes from that source which clearly states that IS NOT the reason that ONE conservative author isnt supporting girlscouts. Her reasons given have to do with GS's general affiliations with pro abortion/ leftist groups.

They just fought for and got a GIRLS ONLY boy scout troop in Ohio. Ummm...you already had that. It was called GIRL SCOUTS.
