Streets painted like this is idiotic. Memorials to represent us demolishing slavery and starting civil rights is good. Memorializing a terrorist organization is idioticThelma Harper wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 11:58 amYou mean kinda like it was a hundred years ago when the remnants of the confederacy put up memorials?
You think the confederate statues are memorials to represent us demolishing slavery and starting civil rights?Snicker wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 12:35 pmStreets painted like this is idiotic. Where did you get your information that countless police were set on fire and shot at bleeding in the streets? Because most of the social media reports on police killed during protests are false.Frau Holle wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 10:22 amWell... to be fair, we now also have the images of police being set on fire, shot and bleeding out in the street, and spit on more times to count.Lemons wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 10:17 amSo the Black Lives Matter name will trigger some people into reliving painful memories of a protest. Especially our very delicate policemen. Ok.DSamuels wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 2:45 am
Are you really that dense or just playing dumb?
I am sure to some BLM brings back memories of that slogan. Right now BLM has stayed they want to defund the police. I dare say if they could get away with it they would completely do away with police altogether. That could be construed as hateful to some.
It’s far to dismissive of human suffering to say that one group of victims should be celebrated and one should be condemned.
https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2 ... tion-prot/The Officer Down Memorial Page, a nonprofit dedicated to honoring local active duty law enforcement officers, lists nine law enforcement officers who have died nationwide since protests began. According to the website and news reports, none were related to the Floyd protests.
One officer was shot and killed while delivering an eviction notice. Two were killed while responding to separate domestic disturbance incidents. Two died after contracting COVID-19. One was accidentally shot by another law enforcement officer while responding to a suspicious person call. One was shot and killed while responding to a call for service at a hotel. One died following a vehicle collision. One died while responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle.
It simply says black lives matter. How is that forcing someone's beliefs down their throat. Who doesn't agree that they matter? And the paint is temporary. It won't be there forever.Mr.Smile wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 2:39 pm Not going to lie, that neon yellow is such an eyesore. renaming Street signs looks a lot classier if you insist on forcing your beliefs down other people's throats. I think its weird that democrats are normalizing spending tax payer dollars on political ads.
Imagine the outcry if republicans did this with a pro life/anti abortion message on a public street.
