I would still take them. It's his time with them, and she doesn't get to say what's going on in your house, or on your time. As long as the children aren't in danger, then it's not her business. I doubt her kid was traumatized by the first one. It was sad, yes, but come on.

That said, if the kids are traumatized, may he alone be cursed with a few nights of no sleep due to scared/crying children.

Sometimes MOM knows best. And sometimes DAD knows best. Time will tell.
