How much would you spend on a home that was flooded 3 separate times?

Nothing. I would spend nothing. But taxes will be spent. These homes should have never been permitted. Contractors and banks made millions. The city made taxes. And the taxpayers get to pickup the tab to buy them.

Not to mention the flood insurance premium is probably astronomical.

This is in the Houston area?

If it's flooded three times and there's a creek nearby, it will flood again. And again. And probably again. If you're buying this home to live there, is it worth the constant rebuild?

Yes Houston

I will never buy there. I think it’s F***ing stupid to continue to rebuild that neighborhood. After Allison in 01 the government stepped in and bought 95% of the homes and tore them down and it’s just grass. The few idiots that stayed now are either selling or rebuilding.

I’m dumbfounded anyone would rebuild.
I can't blame the owners for selling. Someone might still buy it.
I can’t either, I’m just shocked they put that high of a price tag on the place.

Zero. Our home flooded before we bought it.m. Not underwater flooding but major water under the foundation because of poor elevation. We got our house for steal, and spent over a hundred thousand rebuilding most of the house.

I wouldn't own a home like that even if I was paid to take it. Flooded once? Well, not ideal, but shit happens. Flooded three separate times? That's a pattern, which means that it is likely to become my problem, and therefore my expense, at some point down the line. I'll pass.
