His regular unemployment was only $200 a week, yet you made too much for a stimulus check? That doesn’t add up at all. Was your stimulus check taken by child support?
No it was not.

$200 is really good for where we live. Maximum amount is something like $230 a week in my state.

They needed them for school. As of now we are living outside our means but it is what it is. We could have never expected this pandemic would happen right after we had a medical crisis.
I highly doubt the school would require you to buy laptops and not provide them 🙄 and BM should have helped with that expense (assuming she didn't since you said "we had to buy") so there is her child support. And there is still no reason you can't pay SOME of the support. He can get out there and cut grass or offer to shop for people who can't. Honestly those medical bills can wait.
The school did not provide laptops. BM had to get her own for her house. We did try to go half on with her and she said no.

I have all the bills to worry about if he has some left over he can pay whatever.

The medical bills could not wait.
Wait what?
In case you all didn't know the amazing thing about laptops is they are, well portable unlike desktops... now maybe bm wouldn't let the laptops leave her house. In which case I'd said fine but understand that either they'll do school at your house or they'd better bring them to ours. Or it comes out of cs. Your choice.
I mean sheesh I thought getting my ex to pay for stuff was bad. At least we could negotiate.
Also even our title one school is coughing up laptops. I believe no questions asked.

You don't get to pick and choose what comes out of child support. That isn't how it works. She didn't want them bringing them back and forth. The school didn't provide them. I wish they did I really do.

So you guys make over 200K and live paycheck to paycheck? Ok.

Where did I say we make over 200k? Right now we are living paycheck to paycheck. My income isn't really enough to cover everything.

You're the one who said the courts are closed now anyway so what's going to happen? It's ridiculous that the children weren't allowed to bring the laptops or that she made the ex pay the entire cost when it wasn't necessary. If it was a desktop or gaming system sure have one at each house. But laptops necessary for school? She could have gone in half with her ex and helped BOTH of them. Is she a moron? She literally shot herself in the foot and if I were your ex I'd mention that when he does go to court.

You said you guys didn’t qualify for a stimulus check. There were very few reasons to not qualify, the main one being income.

She can take it to court after all of this is over but hopefully DH has a job by then and has it already paid before then.

Just no....
He qualifies for unemployment. With the additional $600 a week ( until the end of this week at least) there is no excuse for him not being able to pay a big portion of his court ordered child support.
