The article made some interesting enough points to make one think. I don’t entirely agree with the article, but it made sense.

The prof is obviously a liberal Trump hater. There are a lot of things that have to be worked out before we turn the corner. We will stumble and fall occasionally, but I believe if we all pull together, follow the advice of wearing masks, social distancing, etc., learn from our mistakes, we will do all right.

Now we have to get rid of the Dem Gov's who have over reached their powers and caused the death of so many businesses. It's going to take time to undo the damage they have done to the economy and all Americans.

How did Cuomo follow Trump? The shutdown was only supposed to last a couple of weeks. None of the gov's had the legal right to lock down their states for more than 30 days. The DOJ is intervening where they see over reach of a gov's powers granted in their state constitution. They've already sent a letter to Los Angeles mayor and Gov Newsom.

The statement of interest marks the latest intervention by the DOJ in lawsuits against state coronavirus restrictions. In April, Attorney General William Barr announced an initiative directing officials to review coronavirus restrictions to ensure that civil liberties are not being violated.

On Friday Assistant Attorney Eric Dreiband also wrote to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and L.A. County’s health director, warning that a longer-term lockdown “may be arbitrary and unlawful.”

Trump made it a specific point to NOT tell these governors what to do. Remember the screeching about "federal policy" being needed?

He left these decisions up to each state, as each state had different needs and was impacted differently. The Fed offered overarching support, which is what they're supposed to do - navy ships, securing/manufacturing PPE, ventilators, etc.

The framers didn't intend for the Fed to be a dictatorship - that's why there's local state governments. I find it fascinating that when Trump came into office there was all kinds of screeching about him being a dictator. When he shows himself to be the opposite of a dictator, there's screeching for him to make sweeping decrees that encompass all 50 states ... Like a dictator would.
