How much would you pay for this?

I'd be fired in a day. Half that shit is not getting done every single day. "project based assignments" i. e. "homework for parents". No thanks. 3 well balanced meals? You get one that I cook. The other two, you get easy stuff like cereal, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, sandwiches etc. 15 minutes of screen time is a waste of time. No point to it. I'd up it to an hour easily. And 3 hours of outside activity isn't happening either with 1 and 3 yr old. A nice 30 minute walk, or playing in the backyard. And the cleaning? I get done what I get done.

I would offer the nanny $1200 per week, which is 30$ an hour, due to the current crisis, and that is WELL above the median income, and it would be a temporary compensation until the pre-schooler & the school age child are back in school & you go back to work.
I'm going to go ahead and be the odd one out, I don't understand why people are so appalled and insulted by your expectations. The curriculum is already developed, right? The only thing, that is a little odd, is the "cook 3 meals" but everything can be negotiated, I am sure you'd assist her on what to cook. You might have to re-think running errands though, as she should not take the little ones out and about.

$30.00 an hour times 50 hours a week is 1500.00 not 1200.00LiveWhatULove wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 3:41 pm I would offer the nanny $1200 per week, which is 30$ an hour, due to the current crisis, and that is WELL above the median income, and it would be a temporary compensation until the pre-schooler & the school age child are back in school & you go back to work.

24.00 an hour times 50 hours a week is 1200.00
Correct? Unless Im missing something and math has changed, lol
I was going to suggest 30 an hour also
Nope. You're both incorrect unless she's basing that on a salaried week. I'm not sure a nanny can be classified as Exempt from OT.Anonymous 5 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 5:40 pm$30.00 an hour times 50 hours a week is 1500.00 not 1200.00LiveWhatULove wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 3:41 pm I would offer the nanny $1200 per week, which is 30$ an hour, due to the current crisis, and that is WELL above the median income, and it would be a temporary compensation until the pre-schooler & the school age child are back in school & you go back to work.

$30 x 40= $1200.00 Base Rate
$30 x 1.5= $45 Overtime Rate
$45 x 10= $450 Overtime @ 10 hours
$1200.00 + $450= $1650/week

What she’s saying is ridiculous. So when is this person supposed to cook the 3 meals a day when she has to provide 3 hours of outdoor activity on top of doing all the cleaning, schooling all the kids and caring for them and they only get 15 minutes of downtime? Is she supposed to cook 3 balanced meals in those 15 minutes when the kids are allowed to watch half a TV show?
But I guess the cooking and/or dish washing could be the “project based assignment” for the day

And in a year that would be a little over $90,000.
That’s almost half of OP’s alleged salary. Not a smart move throwing half your salary on one employee

Nice visual, LMAO.
I missed the 50 hours per week, was it in the OP? my mistake, sorry, I was calculating on 40 hour work week, which is 1200/week, I would do 1600 for 50 hours.

My DH paid more than his entire salary for childcare when our kids were that young, lol. You do what you have to do. It's an financial investment for your career & then an education for your child.Momto2boys973 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 6:06 pm And in a year that would be a little over $90,000.

Most of my friends, do not adhere to "traditional" overtime, if they do, they would calculate it equal what they want to pay in total, so less per hour for the first 40, would be less than the 30 dollars, for example.Anonymous 3 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 5:58 pmNope.
