Is it that they do not accept it or the dental office will not do direct billing?

I can't open my jaw wide in general and now that is worse.MrsDavidB wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 12:28 pmDo you have to get them cut out or just pulled? If just pulled I know it sucks but you can just do a local and not pay the large amount of money for the sedation. It will take a few minutes to pull all 4. Then your bill won't be so large if you pay out of pocket. I would not be waiting for the dental school.Conweis wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 12:16 pmI live next to a big city. I don't mind the dental school, but I know about their long wait.MrsDavidB wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 12:11 pm I hope you called your insurance back and told them they need to update their list as none of the offices they gave you accepted it. As far as the oral surgeon that will accept it may be necessary to drive a long distance like 2 hours to the nearest big city where they have many offices to chose from.
I am scared of dentist but like a big girl went to get a tooth pulled awhile back. I meditated and focused on my breathing for the following to happen:
Tooth broke in half
Dental tool broke
Wait for replacement tool to be sterilized
Second dental tool broke
More shots in the mouth
Cut into jaw to remove remaining tooth
Had to wash my face before entering the lobby because of blood
Swollen jaw
Any unforeseen issues that might arise from my wisdom teeth being pulled, I don't wanna know in the moment
I would pay.Conweis wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 12:17 pmMany places will make you pay upfront. Sedation extractions are not cheap. I want to be knocked the f**k out after what happen last time.Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 12:08 pm No way I would wait. Id just go and have the removed and not deal with the pain.
I have never agreed to sedation.Conweis wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 12:17 pmMany places will make you pay upfront. Sedation extractions are not cheap. I’ve had complcated dental surgery- impacted wisdom tooth - three other wisdom teeth pulled - all with just novacaine .
Sedation is unsafe and expensive
If your wisdom teeth are impacted, you should be sedated.Conweis wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 12:17 pmMany places will make you pay upfront. Sedation extractions are not cheap. Eh, I've had issues multiple times with insurance lists not being up to date. Most recently was when my PCP went out of practice and so my health insurance assigned me a new PCP. When I called the office of that doctor they said "No, Dr. XYZ only handles patients that are employees of the casino. He has a specific contract with them." So I had to hunt down my own new PCP.
A few years ago I had the same issue when looking for an eye care provider. Insurance said "go here" and then I go there and they say "we don't take that insurance". I've come to expect it at this point.

No, because my regular dentist told me to make sure I ask about twilight and sedation. She told me to go to the dental school when my wisdom teeth came through but I did not want to deal with the long wait list. I should had just done it when she told me, instead of looking around.Anonymous 3 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 1:55 pm Could it be they won't accept it because you insist on sedation?
