Two North Carolina men were arrested for allegedly smoking marijuana in front of a 6-year-old child on Facebook Live, the local broadcast station WRAL reports. The 20- and 23-year-olds were each charged with misdemeanor child abuse, according to court documents.

Government overreach. Bad choice yes. But this isn’t the Middle East. We don’t have moral police.

Kinda stupid waste of resources there. Might as well as arrest parents who smoke tobacco and drink alcohol in front of their kids which would probably be 80% of the parents in that town.

It's a $500 fine to smoke in a car with a minor. If the smoking in close proximity the child was the issue, that fine would be appropriate. If it was the moral issue of smoking marijuana in front of a child, it's over-reach. IMO, of course.

You must be talking about a specific state. Most states don't have any such law and the states that do have varying degrees of fines.

You're right. Virginia - and the fine is $100 not $500.

You're right. Virginia - and the fine is $100 not $500.
They've got a ways to go to create laws for marijuana and consumption in front of children. Right now there are no laws but of course there aren't any southern states that have legalized it yet so they'll use that.
