Well I don’t have Twitter but as a survivor, I can have to say I’ve always wondered about the ** in place of letters. Because even you don’t actually see them, your brain has to work out what letters are missing to understand the word so how is it protecting anything? It just doesn’t make sense.

I am so sorry you've been through that and I appreciate the insight from a survivor's point of view. I honestly don't understand stand the point of it either, I mean the conversation isn't going to offend or upset someone any less just because you hide some letters.
