I was told yesterday I'd need to come in twice a week starting next week for non stress tests.

They said the doctor who oversaw my last ultrasound wanted to do it because I have a blood bubble on my cervix.

The spot does not cause issues. I did have bleeding off and on until about 4 months, but it has stopped and not come back. Still, we don't know if that's what caused it or not, they couldn't find the cause.

It just seems like a waste of time to me.

Baby is active, fluid is good, etc. I know they are being safe but it just seems excessive to me.

I did have a miscarriage prior but I am not of advanced maternal age. I am 33. I know a friend told me that's why she had them, but I've only had one MC and she's had several, and she was also several years older than me with her last.

My niece went to the same doctors for her pregnancy and they recommended the same because they thought her son might have a growth disorder because he's so tiny. But she and her DH are both short people, the baby has nothing wrong with him, it's genetics. She declined them after the first one.

Twice a week does sound a tad excessive. I had to get an u/s once a week after 32 weeks because my fluid was low.

Good luck!

I had the non stress test twice a week from 28 weeks on. I had gestational diabetes and they wanted to make sure baby girl was doing good. They almost took her at one. Her heart rate was super high and we had to have a specialist check her out.

I am all for checking on my babies to make sure they are all good. But I had a stillborn baby and multiple miscarriages and freak out at the idea of losing another baby. And that's why I am done having babies. I can't handle the stress.

I’m having biweekly biophysical profiles done. Yesterday baby didn’t get all his points so they added an nst. But I have a history of preterm labor, currently have gestational diabetes and am now insulin dependent and have had a still birth so it’s for good reason. It’s a pain so I understand not wanting to especially just to sit in the monitor. At least with the biophysical profile I get to see him every time

They're just covering their butts. When I was at home I would see commercials for bottom feeding lawyers trolling for birth injury cases. I don't blame ob-gyns for being really cautious.

I had to do them with a biophysical profile with my first. Twice a week for the last two months of my pregnancy. I had some medical issues. I did them and i dont regret doing it.

Ugh I had to have the bio physicals done on my triplets twice a week at the end of my pregnancy. Three babies took forever...then I had to lay there and wait for them to get my doc from upstairs which usually took an hour for him to wander down to check the results to decide if he was admitting me or not..I dreaded those days thankfully it was only for two weeks before they were born.

He didn’t get his breathing points for the first time yesterday so now I’m stressing that. Nice to have someone who understands! I can’t imagine 3 babies to worry about. How far did you get with your babies? I’m thankfully 36 weeks so if he needs to come it’d be ok

I am so glad I was so blissfuly ignorant of all the things that can go wrong with pregnancies when I was pregnant and that even at the age of 36 I had a healthy and event free pregnancy. Even though she decided to make an appearance at 37 and a half weeks and ended up being a vacuum delivery and ended up with low platelets due to her Von Wilebrands. The vacuum gave her a huge hematoma on the top of her head and that caused her platelets to drop. The doctor got it back up with platelet infusion. No one knew at the time that VW could be passed on through the father. She spent a few extra days in the NICU and came home jaundiced but time under a full spectrum light bulb and 2 hour feedings cleared that up quickly.
