Florida follows the same process as you would for an absentee ballot for their mail in voting. It's controlled, organized and signed for. They have track of the ballots. It's done on a request basis.

This is in sharp contrast to other areas that simply blanket mail ballots which go to dead people, people no longer at an address, etc. Anyone could grab and return those.

That may occasionally happen but I doubt it's that often, and just because a ballot is fraudulently returned doesn't mean it will be counted. There is still a process to determine if a a ballot is legitimate. If it can still get through that process, well, I highly doubt it would be in big enough numbers to affect an outcome.

I saw a report that MD and VA along with here in PA are struggling to ensure voting can occur. It said that MD is short 14,000 poll workers because many are older people who don’t feel safe working the polls. I typically vote early or by absentee because of my work travel. This year since I’m home due to travel restrictions, I may volunteer. I have risk but not as badly as someone in their late 60s or 70s. I want to help encourage in person voting.

Absentee ballot voting is extremely safe and he’s right to encourage it. Plus having absentee ballot voting helps meet CDC guidelines of providing multiple ways someone can vote.
Mass mailing of ballots will make ballot harvesting that much easier.

Certainly, no one in their right mind could possibly think that the Post Office will be able to handle millions of mail in ballots. It's already been a debacle in several primaries where people who requested ballots never got them, people who sent in their ballots found out their vote never was counted (probably because their ballot never made it back to wherever it was supposed to end up).

In WI primaries....

But an APM Reports analysis of voter data from Wisconsin’s April primary shows a far more measurable and consequential effect of mail-in voting — rejected ballots. Slightly more than 23,000 ballots were thrown out, mostly because those voters or their witnesses missed at least one line on a form.

The figure is close to Trump’s 2016 margin of victory in Wisconsin of 22,748 votes. And with voter turnout expected to double from April to more than 3 million in November, a proportionate volume of absentee ballot rejections could be the difference in who wins the swing state — and possibly the presidency.

The analysis shows the difficulty some voters had casting a ballot through the mail, often for the first time.

Then we have....

Of course he did. By Michigan law, one must request an absentee ballot and fit certain criteria to get one. That lawless hack of a gov thinks she can do whatever the hell she wants. Sadly, the citizens of Michigan let her.

Michigan An “absent voter” means a qualified

may apply for an absent voter ballot, either
in person or by mail with the clerk of the

First of all, it wasn’t the Governor who sent them, it was the Secretary of State. Secondly, ballot proposal 18-3 passed in 2018, and authorized no-reason absentee voting, so voters don’t need to meet those criteria any longer (https://www.michigan.gov/sos/0,4670,7-1 ... --,00.html) And lastly, she didn’t send them absentee ballots. She sent them applications for absentee ballots.

Maybe because Michigan doesn’t have an election law allowing for that process.

Critical thinking.

Nothing in Michigan law prohibits sending out absentee applications.

Critical thinking leads me to believe that if he genuinely doesn’t have a problem with absentee voting, it’s ridiculous to whine about the Michigan Secretary of State simply mailing out applications en masse.

The SoS doesn't report up to and take direction from the governor? Is there a separate channel that they report through? How did I not know that all this time? I learn new things on this board every day!
