The only thing relevant here is whether the Louisianna law did in fact improve health outcomes or was it a ruse to restrict a legal medical procedure by imposing unreasonable requirements. Which ethnic or religious groups choose the medical procedure, what color skin they have, what any historical figure might think, etc., is not the issue at hand.

An almost identical Texas law was struck down several years ago. It was found to provide no real medical benefit for the woman involved, while placing an undue burden on those seeking legal abortion. That is all that the court looked at, and nothing was different here than in that Texas law.

Latin has a different connotation to me, would you include Spanish and Italian people as Latin since their language and culture is Latin based, or would this only count people from Latin America as Latin?
Or Hispanic for that matter?
I am referring to central and south america. mostly their political systems. Democrats are clearly in favor of destroying the culture, history and political systems of the USA and immigrants have no attachment to it either so there is no reason to expect it to remain. Italian immigrants and others during the industrial revolution assimilated to the culture due to public pressure and simply much lower numbers, a trickle effect vs. flooding. there is not a slow pace but millions upon millions, they can find hubs where no shred of American culture exists and therefore no need to assimilate and no emotional attachment to american principles/culture is passed down or established. democrats now see assimilation as oppression and supremacy so no such pressure exists. in fact, immigrants are encouraged to identify with their own ethnic group's history and to reject the history or the USA as oppressive. just look at the many ways democrats try to undermine the USA's traditions, customs and culture.

ban the pledge of allegiance in school
do not declare one national language, encourage many languages be spoken as primary languages
disrespect or "protest" the national anthem
tear down statues of every important american historical figure
stoke animosity in POC against the founding fathers and America's virtues by defining it solely as a racist sexist patriarchy.
animosity against traditional religious institutions
calls to ban patriotic holidays including Thanksgiving, president's day and Columbus day that legitimize the USA's history as worthy of celebration.

It seems America has to decide if they want to be a melting pot of all cultures and languages, or if they want to have one solid persona.

Most countries do have a singular defining history and culture but since America is so young, now is the time to create one for yourself that will last through the ages.

Historically speaking, this period spans hundreds of years when new nations are created. Thousands of years sometimes.

No, America is a baby still. You have to decide on an identity the same as every other nation in the beginning.

If you want to be a nation that succeeds you need a language, which true, America has already decided it's English and the rest of the world knows this, and learns English because if it.

If you want a nation to succeed you need a culture, and that is beginning in America but you have to separate yourselves out from the rest of the world. Either you are a nation of everyone in the world or you are a nation of Americans.

But most of all, in order to have a history, you need to have a past. America doesn't like it's past right now, but you need to decide if not liking it is enough to get rid of it's impact.

I think identifying American "culture" is a difficult one without recognizing that we are a melting pot and made up of many different cultures. Perhaps that is what makes America unique and that should be embraced?

Our culture and demographic has obviously changed since America's inception. 40% of Gen X are minorities and 50% of kids age 0-16 are minorities. Multi-cultural is what America is and will continue to be. We don't have a singular culture and in many ways that is our strength and uniqueness. Again, shouldn't that be embraced?

America has a great past mixed in with a horrible past. Most countries do. Our past includes trying to erase the culture and identity of indigenous peoples. Our past also includes enslaving peoples and trying to erase their culture and identity in the process. At this time, many in our country is looking at our past and not trying to erase but rather trying to atone. We are not the only country who is rethinking the glory of the past. Look at Britain rethinking the remembrance of its colonial past and realizing that instead of pride, a collective shame is more appropriate and while Britain is rethinking their statues to figures like Rhodes, we are rethinking our figures like Lee, Jackson, Forrest, etc.

We are a comparatively young culture and I would argue that because of this, we have lost the chance to become a country that is a singular nation with a singular culture. Perhaps we are the first global culture?

Well yes, I do think it would have to be a culture and set of traditions that is completely different from the rest of the world and celebrated the global diversity of the nation.

You can completely make an identity for yourselves that has never yet been seen.

But that identity would have to come with the markers that all other nations have to identify themselves with, a culture, a history, a language, a pride and traditions that mark you as different.

Requiring that abortion doctors have admitting privilege is a ruse to effectively out law abortion. This law does nothing to improve or protect the health of women. Any clinic providing outpatient surgery doesn't need admitting privileges. If a patient needs to be admitted to the hospital an ambulance will be called and the patient will be admitted by the ER doctors of the hospital. This is how it has always been. When my husband had sepsis, I called his doctor. I was told to take him to the ER. His doctor did not admit him.
