I don't think you all will get that lucky though. I can't see his ego allowing such a thing to happen.
I think his ego would have him drop out over facing a defeat to Biden...
I honestly doubt that his ego would ever allow him to consider Biden a credible threat. I could see him going all the way up to the bitter end. Plus, he's already lived it once where polls up until the day before the election showed Hillary in a huge lead, and we know how that turned out. I think he'd be bolstered by that bit of history.

That's why since the screeching for impeachment started before Trump was even inaugurated, I kept bringing up that then leaves us with President Pence. I don't think that would be good for ANYONE.
Just curious, but as a fan of Trump, why would Pence be a negative to you?
First - I've never, ever claimed to be a fan of Trump. I simply don't suffer from this baseless, blind hatred that many of you seem to be afflicted with. There are things that he's done right, which I give due credit for. I evaluate him on those things, not some stupid comment he made 200 years ago when he was smack talking with a bunch of guys. That type of thing is insignificant to me to evaluate how someone will manage our country and keep world leaders in their place. I also find it off putting when people disrespect the sitting President. As much as I disagreed with Barry and his turning the country toward socialism, I never spoke about him the way that I see people speak about Trump. I think it's awful. So, if those things make me a fan in your mind, so be it.

Second - Based on Pence's record from when he was governor of Indiana, he's far too right leaning for my liking. For one thing, he's anti gay which is a big thing for me as an LGBTQA ally. Like actively anti gay. That's a huge turn off for me in a leader.

He's way too conservative in general, which I'm 100% confident would be much, much more objectionable to the liberals. I think the only people that would like him in charge are Opus Dei and Evangelicals.
But Trump is actively "anti-gay".

Trump would be humiliated if he lost the popular vote? He won a bigger percentage of the popular vote (46%) than bill Clinton (43%) in 1992 even though Clinton won the popular vote, its all relative and 3rd party candidates impact it. We are more divided than ever, the founding fathers gave us an electoral college to make sure mob rule was never an issue and to prevent civil wars. In fact, its the only reason smaller population states agreed to being united states rather than individual countries. if 51% tries to forever dominate 49% we will end up in a civil war and I don't think anyone wants that. thank god we had such wise amazing founders who foresaw so much. If only idiots could learn from them...

Joe biden's strategy since the "you ain't black" comment has been to hide from the public for weeks. He's hiding so no one can see his dementia and gaffs on display. just wait until the debates, there's no way Biden will come out looking good.

Biden has just said hes going to ban the sale of AR15s and institute a gun buy back program, right when gun sales have been record breaking. right when Americans have come to realize the left is insane and will burn down entire cities to get what they want. no one will support having their gun rights infringed on right now.
This “wait until the debates” stuff is hilarious. Biden debated Bernie in the primary, did just fine and rambling, gaffe prone Donald is hardly some kind of debating pro. He’s laid low because Trump is doing just fine tanking his poll/approval numbers without Biden having to lift a finger or spend a single dollar.

He's not hiding, Trump is his own worst enemy. All Biden has to do is continue to let Trump shit the bed. Doesn't even have to spend campaign dollars on that.
LMAO, sure Jan.

Dems warm to Biden’s bunker strategy

Since the former veep launched his stay-at-home campaign, his lead has grown to double-digits in national polls.

Biden has shied away from numerous national TV interviews in favor of talking to local press, especially in swing states. The local hits make it harder for Republican groups to monitor Biden on TV and catch the gaffe-prone candidate making a mistake on video, the lifeblood of a campaign that is intent on portraying the former vice president as feeble-minded and weak.

I"m very concerned that the dems will pull some kind of crap to get the debates cancelled. They know Biden will fall apart like a cheap suit in debating Trump. He'll get that deer caught in the headlights look and just stand there mumbling. Maybe they'll try to send Jill in as his pinch hitter...........

How utterly delusional of you.

For most of the time I was watching Sunday’s Democratic debate between Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, I was trying to figure out why it was so frustrating. Sure there were ideologically illustrative moments — as when Sanders argued that coronavirus stems from a larger emergency of health and economic inequality that requires a systemic response, versus Biden wanting to focus on the outbreak as a discrete challenge. And there were newsworthy moments — as when they tried to portray slivers of each other’s historical records as endemically problematic, or when Biden promised to have a woman as running mate if he’s the nominee (a commitment Sanders refused to make).

Those elements and more would usually be catnip for folks like me, looking for meaningful grist for our meaning-making mills. And yet… somehow, I guess on an emotional level, the debate felt at best unsatisfying and at times downright absurd. Why? I’ve got five theories. Here they are:

From what I’ve observed of Trump the passed roughly 4 yrs, Trump’s ego isn’t founded on extreme confidence and self value, it’s foundation is extreme insecurity. From his actions and words I’d say he does consider Biden a threat. Now will this lead to him dropping out? Idk, I think he’ll stay to the bitter end because he won’t readily admit defeat. But since he doesn’t mask, he has left himself an opening to bow out without admitting defeat, just a random thought reading through replies😂

Trump is awful at debating, so it would benefit him too. I’m not saying they shouldn’t debate and I love a good shit show, but idk. We are so drained with the current political environment I don’t see it doing anything but encouraging more division and fighting.

I was ready to see the two drunk uncles go at it, but I’m not looking forward to it now.

That's how I think of them too! How funny you said that Southern!
I'm honestly so over politics and fighting and hating l honestly don't have the energy. A few weeks ago I was dying to see it, now not so much.

The debates are no longer a place to learn about a candidates platform, which is what it should be. It's simply disintegrated into a bunch of grown adults sniping, insulting and mocking each other for the world to see. It's become nothing but lambasting others for what they don't do, rather than using it as a platform to highlight what YOU actually do.

I'm disgusted with the whole lot of them. They're all so busy trying to get their own way that we're all being harmed in the shuffle. It's clear none of them really care about those of us "in the cheap seats".
