I haven’t watched the national anthem portion of the game since the beginning of this. If the NFL decides to not show that portion of the game on tv it would be fine with me.

Far as I'm concerned they can stand on their heads if they want. It's disgusting. We whine that they knelt during the anthem. And when we ignored their message eventually there were protests which led to violence. Now I personally condemn the looters and rioters. And i know it might be a stretch to say we ignored peaceful protests so they rioted. And They hurt their own people. But goddammit maybe if government and cities had listened to the kneeling players in the first place there wouldn't BE any protests now. The players hurt no one by it. So Trump can stfu, count his blessings it's peaceful and quit his whining. I always thought this whole fight against kneeling was much ado about nothing.
As far as it being about nothing, that depends on your perspective. A lot of military families find it disrespectful. Regardless... Government officials should have been listening LONG before anyone took a knee. The injustices date back for decades, if not centuries.
My father served. We're not a military family but I think he"d be the first to say we've bigger problems. Look if you want to discuss disrespect there are people who talk or sit through the anthem. They bother me more. At least the kneelers have a reason. In any case you're right. Officials should have listened long ago. We might have avoided much of this mess we're in.

People watch football to be entertained, not so they can see players virtue signal which is all it is at this point. I'd love to know how they are helping the black community they profess to be in solidarity with off the field but have seen little to nothing in that regard. That is the complaint I hear and read about over and over again - make a difference off the field instead of making a show on it.

That doesn't cut it. You nor anyone else knows what they consider 'worthy organizations'. Notice it doesn't name one charitable or worthy organization they've donated to.

The NFL is just jumping on the BLM bandwagon. I'll bet before the riots, they never gave BLM one moment of thought.

Great. We still have virtue signalling on the field in the form of kneeling, leading to nothing more than division.

I think people wearing flag thong bikinis wedged up their asses is far more disrespectful than kneeling during the anthem.

How is standing for the anthem not just as much a case of virtue signalling, especially if it’s forced by the NFL? And if someone is sincerely bothered by it that much, couldn’t they just turn the game on thirty seconds later or not look at the television during the anthem?
