In an effort to combat racism, Americans are taking all Black and Native American faces off of packaging, leaving only White faces lining the isles.
Yeah kinda....I think it’s token gestures by companies to show how woke they are or trying to be proactive by removing it now before they get hit by the cancel culture.

I don’t think some of these moves are actually done to combat racism.

I don’t think Land O Lakes replaced their logo with a White person so IDK about removing POC from the isles.
I think what she means is the quaker guy and other iconic white mascots will remain on packaging, only POC will be gone.

they make up for it by replacing white characters with POC in TV reboots and movies.
I don’t really understand the point of redoing a movie.

All that money spent just to do the same thing over again?

Why not make a brand new movie with a brand new story?

They didn’t replace her, there is just no one there anymore.

So if you walk down the isles now, instead of seeing advertisements that have a multitude of faces, there will only be white faces on packaging lining the isles.

I’m not sure that’s a good plan to combat racism.

I don’t think packaging on isles really does anything to combat racism either way TBH.

because they're easy cash grabs. they get to use a script or series that they know is already successful (no risk), they spend no more time in writing a script, developing characters. as far as the disney films, their remakes are shot by shot identical- they just update the 2d animation to CGI. same music, they can even mass produce more already existing merchandise for the "new" version. Now, they rope in old audiences with nostalgia for the past since everyone is divided and unhappy right now they are longing for the past, then also rope in new racial demographics by race swapping. then they get a ton of free advertising from the controversy they stoke over their woke race/gender swapping remakes. its a win win for them and makes a ton of easy money with little cost, effort and risk on their part.

Yeah she clarified. It’s hard to say without knowing how Quaker will rebrand since they may replace it with an updated POC. I’ll probably just find out whenever I go buy cornmeal after they change it because I doubt I follow this story closely. Lol

I don’t think about race on my groceries, so if they are all white..I wouldn’t notice it.

Next it will be racist because they aren’t included.

They already changed her at least once. From what I have read they are getting rid of the name “Aunt Jemima” too, so no updating.

We’ll be left with Betty Crocker, the pillsbury dough boy, Martha White mixes, etc.

I meant update as far as a different POC, character or whatever, but if they don’t ..that’s OK too.

All of this jumping on the bandwagon crap again. Meh, I don't care who's on the pkg of anything as long as the ingredients don't change.

But that leads me to wonder how many companies are going to cost themselves more money in the end what with repackaging, renaming, etc. When people can't find their old standbys by the name and packaging when they go shopping, they just might change brands figuring the company isn't making their favorite any more.
