Dem rep credits hydroxychloroquine and Trump for saving her life.

FDA approves cnloroquine and hydroxychloroquine

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business ... loroquine/

https://reason.com/2020/03/30/fda-appro ... -covid-19/

https://www.newsweek.com/fda-says-hydro ... us-1494925

The FDA first approved it for emergency use, and has expanded that to it can be used to treat the virus. It has few side effects, especially if only used for the 5 or 6 days for COVID19. There are zero long term side effects from taking it for such a short time. I haven't yet found anything that it interacts with, but there could be something that it does interact with... In any case, the drug has been around for a long long time and used by many people.

Something to think about ---- how many people with lupus, or RA have contracted the virus??? How many people have been hospitalized who take this drug for something else? What are the chances that it can actually, maybe.... prevent contracting the virus?

More about a drug that until Covid 19, I had no idea existed, and it's drawn my own interests for obvious reasons:

https://www.healthline.com/health/hydro ... de-effects

https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/meds/a601240.html

Also a testimony:

However, for ME, I find it still too experimental yet in a time where the world is scrambling to come up with answers and treatments, there will be a lot of unknowns and hopes placed on drugs such as this. *sigh Adds to the scariness of everything IMO.

As for Trump saying, "what do I know," I don't really see this is yet another gotcha moment directed at him but by all means....
I've taken it for years. I don't take it on an empty stomach, since it can upset my tummy.

If you come across a map that shows the cases around the world, check out how lightly Africa has been hit. Choloroquine is sold OTC there for malaria..... connect the dots there.

once you're on a ventilator, your odds of survival are very low. He basically said at that point you have nothing to lose and I agree.

I've wondered about the African continent and that light reporting, hoping that it is a case of being less affected yet still wondering if they're (like any country might) not sure of WHO has it due to inability to acquire the proper tests, PPE's, and so on. Kwim?

I will check out more about them, however.

It sounds like the drug has worked well for you as you've taken it for so long, which is great as well as very promising in general.

To be honest, I don't take it as prescribed. It does upset my stomach, and I can't deal with side effects. But, I've been on it and another one for quite a long while... I did start taking it again once news got out about it helping with this virus, because I'm still working every day. I figure I can use all the help I can get! But, I did realize that in all the time I've been on it, I have not had a cold, or any kind of flu... nothing more than a sniffle once in a while. 'The wheels are turning....

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you that it continues to help you!

May I ask what the other side effects have been for you?

I know that with any given medication, individuals who take 'it' will experience things while others won't.

And thanks to that incompetent bobble head, people who rely on that medication to keep their autoimmune disease at bay cannot get their scripts filled.

Exactly! And if he hadn’t said that people would be bitching about him thinking he knows more than medical professionals. Fact is no matter what he says there are some who will find fault. I just look at the source of the comment. ‘Nuff said.

Don't connect the dots until you know if widespread testing is occurring. The maps are only showing confirmed cases.

I wonder if they are using it to treat Boris Johnson who's now in ICU.
