Who woulda thunk it?
Attorney General William Barr compared being in law enforcement to being in the military. Barr said it took decades after the Vietnam War for troops to earn respect. He said he remembers parades as soldiers left for then returned home from the first Gulf War in the 1990s.

"They have to start showing more than they do — the respect and support that law enforcement deserves," Barr said. "And if communities don't give that support and respect, they might find themselves without the police protection they need."

What a shitty thing to say. Wonder if it applies to trump and his constant disrespect of the FBI and other intelligence agencies. Barr is an abomination.

Several cities routinely have marches of leftists screaming f**k THE POLICE. Police are now constantly filmed and belittled. They're refused service or have their food contaminated. They are harassed and yes - disrespected.

Common sense will tell you that being treated that way because of your job.....just might make you rethink your career.

Wow. How "shitty" to point out such a true and logical thing to say. :?

Were you aware that there is a crisis shortage for new recruits in police academies all over the nation? Do you know that that will inevitably lead military law enforcement in our cities?

Maybe they could try not shooting unarmed people/sleeping children/family pets if they want more respect.

Or they could stop protecting each other like a gang and if they see abuse of power they report it

But the ones who do that get hazed or transferred

Well, you know, you want to start small, work them in slowly. "literally just don't murder people" seems like a pretty safe starting point to me.

And I'm sure those things happen in a complete vacuum. 🙄 Its going to have to go both ways. Police need to do things to maintain respect. There's far too many stories of planting evidence or shooting unarmed citizens. Until then, they serve ALL communities, they aren't some sort of protection squad you can hire. They can't pick and choose. We all pay taxes.

Some actually think the police should be disbanded. The wild west will seem tame if there is less law enforcement, or none at all. But a ton of people aren't bothering to think about that because it doesn't fit the narrative.
