Chlorpyrifos has been linked to brain damage in infants and young children. The current EPA has declined to enforce a ban on the pesticide ordered by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in 2015.

Research links the pesticide exposure to neurological damage, and for decades environmental and health groups have pushed to prohibit chlorpyrifos. The farm lobby sees the pesticide as a crop protection tool, and commodity (stock fund) groups have opposed the ban.

Chlorpyrifos is patented by DOW Chemical, who gave $1 Million to the Trump Inauguration fund.
Scientists say studies have shown that chlorpyrifos damages the brains of fetuses and children. The pesticide has been used nationally on dozens of food crops... but some states have recently moved to ban it.

The EPA under the Obama administration had initiated a ban, but the agency reversed that decision shortly after President Donald Trump took office.

Look at how horrible Round Up is for us. Europe has actually banned it, but it's still bathing our land over here in the USA.

The EPA is useless. But they're worried about car emissions though, so you have to get those cars tested every year ... as the semis belch out black smoke everywhere.

Effed up priorities.

Florida tried the emission thing in the nineties, but it failed. Prior to that we haven't had vehicle inspection stations since the late seventies. Sounds like a state issue to me. Not all semis blow smoke from their stacks, especially those who make runs to or in California, and heaven help those who are caught in a weigh/agriculture station. They have a parking lot just for trucks on lock down.

But I'm still the winner! They lied! They cheated! They stole the election!

The EPA has been mostly dismantled and ineffective since Trump took office and appointed his own head of the EPA.

He has eliminated the many important Regs that Obama instituted because he’s trying to erase Obama and his accomplishments.

There will be air and water pollution , thanks to Trump and any toxic chemicals sold by Trump’s contributors will still be sold etc etc

They already were useless and ineffective long before the current President. Round up and whether to ban has been the subject of discussion for years. Europe banned it several years ago. These emission testing stations and that useless nonsense had been in full force since the 90s.

I keep hearing about these "rules he's dismantled". What has he taken away? What effects have there been? Have there been any adverse outcomes?

I know that trump derangement syndrome calls for all evils that have ever befallen man to be hung on trump, but hanging the uselessness of the EPA on him doesn't work.

Here’s evidence.
Facts.
( no way is there a “ Trump derangement syndrome “. All fiction made up by Conservatives. There’s just a whole lot of conservatives who blindly follow Trump and when they see evidence of his mistakes, they panic, deny the facts and hit out at the people who present the facts)

If the EPA was in fact "useless" then shouldn't the POTUS be working to strengthen protections for citizens health?
Not weaken it?

There are too many changes to list here - basically there has been reduced monitoring of pollution, less reporting required by corporations, many lakes, streams and rivers removed from protected classification (meaning you can now dump waste directly into these waters) etc.

Here is link to a list if you really want to know. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/201 ... backs.html

He's also been quietly dismantling our terrorist programs. When it's done quietly behind the scenes, when the shit hits the fan, he can blame Obama & Democrats because no one realizes what he's been doing behind the scenes.

The Trump administration has quietly dismantled or cut back multiple programs that were created after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to help detect and prevent terrorism involving weapons of mass destruction, a Times investigation has found.

The retreat has taken place over the last two years at the Department of Homeland Security, which has primary domestic responsibility for helping authorities identify and block potential chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.

The changes, not previously reported, were made without rigorous review of potential security vulnerabilities, The Times found, undermining government-wide efforts aimed at countering terrorist attacks involving unconventional weapons, known as WMD.

Among the programs gutted since 2017, however, was an elite Homeland Security “red team,” whose specialists conducted dozens of drills and assessments around the country each year to help federal, state and local officials detect such potential threats as an improvised nuclear device concealed in a suitcase, or a cargo ship carrying a radiation-spewing “dirty bomb.”

Another Homeland Security unit, the Operations Support Directorate, had helped lead up to 20 WMD-related training exercises each year with state and local authorities. The directorate participated in less than 10 such exercises last year and even fewer so far this year, according to internal Homeland Security documents.

Experts at Homeland Security’s National Technical Nuclear Forensics Center had worked with counterparts throughout the federal government to strengthen detection and tracing capabilities that might deter a hostile foreign state from slipping radiological or nuclear material to terrorists.

The center has been reduced to a shell: Its leadership is out and its staff has shrunk to three positions from about 14.
