The employee argued that, on a technical level, content from Republican politicians could get swept up by algorithms aggressively removing white supremacist material. Banning politicians wouldn’t be accepted by society as a trade-off for flagging all of the white supremacist propaganda, he argued.
Why Won’t Twitter Treat White Supremacy Like ISIS? Because It Would Mean Banning Some Republican Politicians Too.

They are correct. I don’t think it’s ok that innocent people are censored or flagged due to the algorithms to combat ISIS on Twitter. While it’s reduced, it hasn’t totally eradicated so the trade off is still too high in my opinion. It’s ok if others are ok with this, but it’s a shitty trade off, to censor innocent users due to the crimes of others. Republican politicians was an example they used, but it would potentially censor so many people, not just Republican politicians. To write a complexed algorithm that would treat white supremacy as it does ISIS, you’re talking about potentially censoring everyone.
twitter is VERY aggressive towards banning and censoring conservatives and letting liberals get away with much worse.
a conservative tweeted about a lack of fathers in households contributing to criminal behavior later on and was BANNED for hate speech. Meanwhile Sarah Jeong, a writer for the New York times tweets numerous racist things against white people and she remains on twitter.

Islam IS a supremacist ideology. as is Judaism and many other religions. believing your religion is superior or your race is superior isnt enough to make one a terrorist, you have to act in ways that terrorize others.
of course I disagree with white or any other racial supremacy, but just feeling that your (general) race is better isn't terrorism.
an Asian thinking Asians are superior because they live the longest of all races for example, is not terrorism.
Asians bombing non Asians in order to promote an ideology via fear is terrorism.

White supremacists are acting in ways that terrorize others. They have been by far the most frequent perpetrators of domestic terrorism for years now.

They should. Several members in here on the right will lose their Twitter accounts.

People use white supremacy so loosely, everyone would think everything is white supremacy and demand every damn thing is banned.
Until people are able to find a reasonable balance, that won’t work.

I guess white supremacists need to start chopping some heads off on YouTube in order to be taken seriously.

SHOCKING UPDATE: THIS IS FAKE NEWS!
"Motherboard reported earlier Thursday that a Twitter employee at an all-hands meeting last month said the company does not use artificial intelligence (AI) to aggressively take down neo-Nazi content because it could unintentionally remove Republican lawmakers and their supporters from the platform.
Twitter, in a statement to The Hill, said the story has "absolutely no basis in fact" and disputed the "characterization of the exchange at the meeting of March 22."
