I asked him if he wanted a new backpack last year and he said no.

We live in a small college town (Kenyon) and a lot of the students carry them.

Well, heck! I'd say that's a GREAT backpack then!
I vote for this one!
They really are great quality and a respectable name.

I've seen them all over the place. I just had no idea that they lasted that long! Your son is never gonna want to give his up! He's probably ATTACHED to it by now! LOL :)

I never used a backpack. I took my iPad or a notebook depending on the class with me. That was it.

I'd maybe just get a large purse. That way you can use it when you aren't on campus and after you finish college.

I swear I will get him a new one for college and I will keep this one as a pillow or something so I don't get to lonely. If he will let me have it.

You could probably do something really special with that thing once he gives it up! I just think it's neat that he's had it for as long as he has. Think about it! It's been with him through THICK AND THIN for Y E A R S ! I like your idea of making a pillow out of it!

My daughter will be entering her junior year in college. Over the years, I've held onto "pieces of items" (ex: Tshirts she wore from special occasions, Baptism dresses, Broadway show t-shirts, local theater shows she acted in, sports team shirts she played for, etc., ). And soon, if I will make a quilt of these FAVORITE MEMORIES for her. If I ever get two seconds to start it! LOL
