Today students at the school my kids go to were subjects of sexual harassment via Google Meet Up. A sick f**k logged into live class meet ups and started showing porn to middle school kids. Sorry I know we are all worried about getting sick but kids are now at risk for this kind of stuff too.
Zoom had similar issues last year but not nearly as bad as actual porn. I'm sick of this virus.
Porn is just one reason why I want my kids to actually go back to school
Yeah, that is so much worse than Covid. I can't even eye roll hard enough. You just don't want to deal with your kids, like most of the other parents whining schools need to open again. Just wait, they'll be closed again when the virus spreads through the schools.
I have no problem dealing with my kids. I was hoping for more of a hybrid option. I'm not downplaying Covid. It is a horrible thing impacting the lives of everyone. That doesn't mean I don't wish things were back to normal enough so my kids can go to school.Anonymous 2 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:23 pm Yeah, that is so much worse than Covid. We all know that distance learning was a complete failure. They leaned nothing. They need to be in school.Anonymous 2 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:23 pm Yeah, that is so much worse than Covid. If hundreds of people can attend a memorial for john lewis with ZERO ATTEMPT TO SOCIAL DISTANCE, if protesters can march shoulder to shoulder for hours many without masks then I'm pretty certain that our children will be safe in schools with all the ridiculous safety precautions now required.
This is all politically motivated.
They are your kids. Keep them home hidden away until you are comfortable. I mean it could be years but you do you.

The oranges of the island are like blazing fire
Amongst the emerald boughs
And the lemons are like the paleness of a lover
Who has spent the night crying.
My soul was ripped to shreds on 10/27/14

It happened in a Zoom meeting I was once. A creep crashed in and started posting images of kids being sexually abused. It was the most awful thing, or host lost control of the meeting so he couldn’t even shit it down, but he eventually had the idea of shutting down his computer and that did it.
Zoom has increased its security because of incidents like this. There are many ways to prevent situations like this. I don’t know about Google, though. I’ve been in many other Zoom meetings since and haven’t had a problem.

I'm guessing it's a parent or someone who found the teachers webpage. The incident was reported to the police and the school has halted all Google meet ups until a solution to the problem can be found. That sucks though because Google meet ups were supposed to be the main source of interaction the teachers had with the students. It just feels like something will always ruin remote learning no matter how hard the school is trying.MistressMonster wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:30 pmHow did he get the info to do it?Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:16 pm Today students at the school my kids go to were subjects of sexual harassment via Google Meet Up. I would agree this was politically motivated if the whole world didn't shut down with us. As far as the porn you should be angry at Google meet up. Apparently they have security issues. Also if the middle schoolers are anything like the ones I know they've figured out how to find porn already. I agree this shouldn't have happened but that's a problem with meet ups.Anonymous 3 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:29 pmWe all know that distance learning was a complete failure. They leaned nothing. Two colleges in Florida just went mostly online. It's here to stay like it or not

What the dude did was wrong and I hope they have some way to catch him, or at least prevent future similar incidents.Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:16 pm Today students at the school my kids go to were subjects of sexual harassment via Google Meet Up. But sorry, IMO it's not a reason for kids to go back to school. It's not the end of the world if kids were momentarily exposed to porn. Half the kids have probably already seen some type of porn or another. I was sneaking porn when I was 11/12 years old and my mom never knew about it. And I was the goody, goody type at school. Not the type of kid you'd expect to sneak porn.
Both of my kids' schools are using Google Classroom and Google Meets to do classes and I am quite happy with the arrangement right now. I wouldn't want them at school right now, even if they do get a flash of porn through Google Meets. My kids already know the world is full of idiots.

Are you talking about the distance learning that took place in the Spring? Because that is very different from what is taking place now in the fall. At least at my district it is. In the Spring, the teachers and administrators were caught off guard and they were scrambling to figure out how to simply finish out the school year. Now in the Fall they actually have a much better plan in place that is actually accomplishing learning at home from the teachers.Anonymous 3 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:29 pmWe all know that distance learning was a complete failure. In the Spring they learned nothing. Now, they are actually learning stuff. Give schools a chance to prove themselves in the fall before you deem it all a complete failure.
